TLDR

We try not to be jerks. Please also try not to be a jerk.

Summary

PT242 is a labor of love produced by many volunteers who spend countless hours contributing. We don't have ads, donors, or any other income. It is all volunteer work and paid for by our team.

In summary, we do this for you because we love it. We spend the time to get it right because it matters to us. Please be nice. Please don't be a jerk. If you find yourself highlighting stuff on this site and choosing "copy" and then going to your site and choosing "paste" maybe don't do that.

The Log

The most commonly used page on our site is our Dispatch Board. This board is put together to document trains that pass through the Horseshoe Curve. There are volunteers who listen to multiple radio feeds, watch several webcams, and log the trains. We provide this data to the railfan community as a service to help with identification and tracking of trains. We do not suggest that we own the data of the record of 63V passing the Horseshoe Curve at 07:13 AM with NS 9911 leading.

That information is basically public and is acquired through public sources. Please feel free to use our site data freely when it comes to what time, what symbol, or what the consist of a train is. We don't own that.

Privacy Policy

This site makes use of cookies to make your browsing experience easier and hopefully better. We do our best to not be evil and we don't try to track all of your online behavior. This is not meant to be intrusive or to violate your privacy or GDRP or any other policies anyhere. If this upsets you, you can probably figure out a way to block the cookies or something. Or don't use the site. Either way - if you are going to use the site, know that we are dropping a cookie here and there to try and make the use of our site easier for everyone.

Also!

We rely heavily on information gathered from multiple sources and we are grateful to sites like NS Dash 9, Railroadfan Wiki, Virtual Railfan, and many more. We absolutely could not run the site without them and we are thankful that they exist.

But...

In the vast majority of cases, we are happy to share everything that is on this site with anyone who wants it. It would be preferable that you ask permission first, and that you give credit to where it came from. We don't have a team of lawyers on standby waiting to go after people who don't do as we ask but, ultimately, if people use our content without attribution we will be less likely to continue to provide it. No one likes seeing something they spent hours on show up on someone else's website without any credit to the original site and content creators.
